Healthcare in Delhi: QR code based health cards for people by August

It will help in easy accessibility of information ranging from availability of beds in government hospitals, facilities in hospitals and doctors' qualification to medicines in stores among others.

Delhi government has said that by August this year, everyperson in the capital will have a QR code based health card. It will alsocontain basic clinical details to ensure easy accessibility of publichealthcare facilities.

Health card will be linked to government's cloud basedHealth Information Management System. It will help in easy accessibility ofinformation ranging from availability of beds in government hospitals,facilities in hospitals and doctors' qualification to medicines in stores amongothers.

For the selection of health card issuing and distributionagency, Expression of Interest (EIO) has been floated by the government. HealthInformation Management System will track and record the complete healthcare ormedical record and it will provide continuum of care and people will getclinical key details.

It is expected to bring the data of 38 governmentalhospitals,180 dispensaries, 25 polyclinics and 500 Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinicsunder the one broad system.

The QR code based health cards will be issued to everyoneabove the age or who has attained 18 years of age. Document will be issued tothose from 1 to 18 years that will be linked to their parents' card.
