Hours after taking the oath, the Chief Minister of TamilNadu MK Stalin announced Rs 2000 Covid pandemic time relief for people of thestate. Along with this, a cut in Aavin milk rate and free travel for women instate-run buses was also announced by CM on May 7.
These were the promises made by MK Stalin’s party DMKahead of the April 6 Assembly elections. Soon after taking over as CM, MKStalin started working on the promises made by his party and also announcedbringing covid treatment in private hospitals under a government insurancescheme.
The statement from CMO said, “To implement that, theChief Minister has signed the order to provide the first installment of Rs 2000in May itself at Rs 4,153.69 crore, covering 2,0767,000 ration card holders.”
Earlier, ahead of Assembly elections 2021, the party alsopromised of providing Rs. 4000 for rice ration card holders to help thecitizens who were affected due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Reducing the price of Aavin milk which is a state-runmilk supply, its price is now Rs 3 with effect from May 16. Also from May 8onwards, women are allowed free of cost travel in all ordinary fare city busesoperated by State Transport Corporation. The amount allocated for this purposeis Rs 1200 crore.
Stalin had promised to solve the issues in the petitionsreceived by him in 100 days of taking over. To fulfill this he has approvedconstituting a department to implement the Chief Minister in Your Constituencyscheme.
On May 7, MK Stalin took oath as the Chief Minister ofTamil Nadu, which was administered by Governor Banwarilal Purohit.
