In itsfirst House Meeting, the Municipal Corporation has cleared the proposal torecruit Safai Karamcharis and sewermen besides enhancing green spaces in thecity area and setting up of Verka booths in five parks.
At the veryoutset the House observed two-minute silence in memory of those, who have leftfor their heavenly abode since over the last meeting.
The Housealso welcomed its all members as well as Commissioner before starts itsproceedings. The House unanimously passed the resolution on recruitment of 98Safai Karamcharis and 23 Sewermen to be recruited as per law and the guidelinesissued by the Government of Punjab besides committing to the additionalexpenditure of Rs. 1.44 crore per year for this purpose .
Givingdetails of the meeting, the Municipal Commissioner Aashika Jain said thatfinancial powers upto 50 lakhs had been delegated to F&CC.
TheCommittee will be led by the Mayor as its Chairperson while two CouncillorsBalwinder Kumar from Ward No. 14 and Mrs. Kulwinder Kapoor from Ward No. 45along with Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor have also been nominated to theCommittee.

The Housealso approved the setting up of Verka booth in the designated parks andinterested eligible candidates may contact at 92162-00095 in this regard.
The meetingheld under the chairmanship of Mayor Surinder Kumar also gave its nod todevelopment works worth Rs. 10.32 crores. The House also discussed the agendaof the meeting in detail, which had already been circulated amongst themembers. The meeting also unanimously approved various development works.
CommissionerAashika Jain asserted that the Municipal Corporation is fully committed to theoverall development of the city alongwith completion of various development works, beautification of the city anddevelopment of parks shall be undertaken aggressively.
SeniorDeputy Mayor Praveen Saini, Deputy Mayor Ranjeet Chaudhary along with othercouncillors were present in the meeting.
