Afterthe eleventh round of talks between the farmers' leaders and the Centre remainedinconclusive, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said stressedthat there were 'no problems in the three laws, but the government had offeredto suspend them as respect for farmers'.
Healso added that the government is ready for discussion if they are open to theproposal of suspension of the three laws.
Addressingthe media the Minister said “Talks remained inconclusive as farmers' welfarewas not at the heart of talks from the unions' side. I am sad about it”.
Hesaid that Farmers unions have claimed that they only want the repeal of thelaws despite the government asking for alternatives. “We asked them toreconsider our proposal as it is in the interest of farmers and the country. Weasked them to convey their decision tomorrow”.
