Themajority of youngsters in India want to go abroad to pursue higher studies. Canadais and will always be the number one destination, but now Australia is also notlagging behind. As the new norms related to fees and living expenses arestudent-friendly, Australia has also become an ideal destination for students.
Afterthe country has lifted its Covid restrictions, many students especially fromPunjab and Haryana want to go to Australia, but fraud cases are coming in theway.
Theconsultants explained that there is an increase in the number of students goingto Australia because they need to pay fees in advance only for the first sixmonths and they do not have to pay any living expenses upfront.
Also,if the students want to pursue studies in Australia, they need all six bands in International English Language TestingSystem (IELTS) with at least 5.5 each in all four modules that include reading, speaking, writing, and listening.
Sometimeback, it came into the observation of Australian authorities that some of thetravel agents are attaching fake documents with the profiles of students. Now,the authorities are checking and examining each and every document verycarefully which is causing delays in the visa of students, especially those whobelong to Punjab and Haryana.
Around600 fraud cases were detected by the Home Department of Australia, as a resultof which, the file of each and every student is being extensively scrutinized. In this whole process, the students who are genuine had to pay a huge price, although they had no fault in the same.
Now, onlytime will tell whether the Australian authorities will find a solution to thisproblem or all the students will have to go through long queues of waiting.
