Induction Programme organized at Dayanand Ayurvedic College

Dayanand Ayurvedic College which is among top five colleges of India organized Induction Programme of 15 days for First year students.

Dayanand Ayurvedic College established since 1898 is India’soldest Ayurvedic College to start institutional study in Ayurveda. It hasproduced thousands of graduates who are serving the ailing humanity in India& abroad.

Principal Dr. Sanjeev Sood told that as per guidelines of Ministry of AYUSH Centre Council of Indian Medicine conceived a 15 daysInduction Programme for First Year students admitted in 2020-2021 for the quickknow how of Ayurveda System of Medicine. NEET qualified students from GuruRavidas Ayurved University, Hoshiarpur who were admitted in Dayanand AyurvedicCollege, Jalandhar which is among top five Ayurvedic Colleges of India.

In this Programme special lectures on various topics like Uniqueness of Ayurveda comparedto other system of Medicines, Ayurveda and Covid-19, Impact of  Physician in Society, Role of Ayurveda inPublic Health and Primary Health Centers, Status of Ayurveda and Future Avenuesfor new students ,Traditional Food & Ayurveda, Bio Medical WasteManagement, Stress Management, Communicative English, Use of Herbs inVeterinary Sciences etc.

Apart from college faculty external speakers from variousfields like Dr. Rakesh Sharma, Dean Academics, Guru Ravidas AyurvedicUniversity, Hoshiarpur spoke about Qualities of Good Doctor & HerbalManagement of  various disease, Dr. IshSharma, Controller of Examination spoke about Importance of Nadi Pariksha andabroad avenues for Ayurveda Physician, Dr. Jeevan Asha, Associate Professor,DAV College, Jalandhar spoke about Importance of  Sanskrit, Dr. Meenu Talwar,Head Department of  Sanskrit gaveinformative lecture on Sanskrit,  Dr.Meenakshi Syal, Coordinator Collegiate school at Hans Raj Mahila MahavidyalyaJalandhar spoke about Comprehend the learning pedagogy and role of learningskills  Mr. Liakatbir Singh, ExecutiveDirector  from PAHAL NGO, Jalandhar spokeabout Bio Medical Waste Management, Dr. Umesh Sapra, Assistant Professor  from Chaudhary Bhram Prakash AyurvedicSansthan New Delhi,  spoke about BasicPrinciples of Ayurveda, Dr. Harvinder Pal Singh from Pal Nursing Home,Jalandhar Cantt spoke about  Stress andits Management,  Dr. Joginder, DistrictAyurveda Officer and Ayurveda Medical Officers Dr. Chetan Mehta, Dr. HemantMalhotra, Dr. Manu Hallan gave their informative lectures to the buddingDoctors. 

At the end on 30th March, 2021 Dr. Sanjeev Sood, Principalthanked first year faculty members. Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Vibhu Khanna, Dr.Smita Kumari, Dr. Rita Upadhaya  &all the experts and staff for the successful completion of the event and gavecertificates to all the participants.

This program is as per guidlines of central government tomake aware new admissions in Ayurvedic colleges throughout India to knowAyurveda Sankrit and first hand information about Ayurveda. As students arefrom science background they have no knowledge about  Ayurveda,sanskrit  and yoga so to give themknowledge in 15 days this program is initiated by AYUSH ministry.
