Karnataka government announces 30% fee cut; teaching, non-teaching staff protest

Drivers, attenders, security staff and members of school managements protested in the state capital.

Karnataka government has announced a fees cut by 30% inthe state. Majority of the private schools have declared a holiday after themove to only charge 70% of tuition fee this academic year.

According to a report published on ndtv.com, nearly 3,000teachers and non-teaching staff thronged streets to protest against this move. However,it was not the only issue that was protested by the teaching and non-teachingstaff.

Drivers, attenders, security staff and members of schoolmanagements protested in the state capital.

The protesters were covered in the drone footagetelecasted by television news channels. It affected the traffic for 30 to 45minutes.

It was a protest organised by Karnataka Private SchoolManagement, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Co-ordination Committee. More than10 organizations from of private schools marched from Bengaluru's main railwaystation to Freedom park.

As per reports, the government have refused to revoke itsorder while the teachers are demanding repeal of the order.
