TheAam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has formed a government in Delhi with threehistoric victories in a row, is very serious about next year's Punjab Assemblyelections 2022.
TheAam Aadmi Party contested the Assembly elections in Punjab for the first timein 2017 and emerged as the second-largest party in the state, winning 20 seats. Now the party has been dreaming of capturing power in Punjab, beating theCongress in next year's Assembly elections.
AAPbelieves that the people of Punjab are fed up with Akali Dal and now very upsetwith the Congress and will definitely give a chance to the Aam Aadmi Party fora change. Compared to the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party, the AamAadmi Party is in a completely electoral mood.
Underthis, the Aam Aadmi Party government in the Delhi Assembly on Friday passed aresolution in the House seeking repeal of the new laws at the Center. This isbeing considered by AAP as a major masterstroke for the Punjab Assemblyelections 2022. Earlier, Kejriwal had announced 300 units of free electricity, now this is the second masterstroke. Both of them are being seen as amasterstroke to win elections in Punjab.
AAPstrategists believe that if the party fights the elections in Punjab withproper spirit, it can come to power by ousting Congress. Meanwhile, on thesecond day of the monsoon session of the Delhi Assembly, the Aam Aadmi Partygovernment passed a resolution in the House seeking repeal of three new centralagriculture laws.
Itis being said that in the Punjab elections, it is possible that Arvind Kejriwalwill take the lead in the election campaign. He has won the Delhi Assemblyelections three times in a row as the Aam Aadmi Party chief.
Itmay be recalled that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has already soundedthe trumpet for next year's Punjab Assembly elections. Last month, the AAPchief made a big poll promise that if the Aam Aadmi Party wins in Punjab, everyfamily would be given 300 units of free electricity every month.
ArvindKejriwal also announced that it would benefit 80 percent of the people ofPunjab and they would not have to pay any electricity bill. At the same time, they have announced a waiver of outstanding bills of domestic electricityconsumers.
