KV Raju, a well-known Kannada director who directed Amitabh Bachchan in 'Indrajeet,' has died after a lengthy illness
K.V. Raju, a veteran Kannada director and writer, died on Friday at his Bengaluru home. Raju directed 'Indrajeet,' starring Amitabh Bachchan, and 'Udhar Ki Zindagi,' starring Kajol and Jitendra.
Raju directed the critically praised Kannada films 'Yudhakanda,' 'Belli Modagalu,' 'Indrajith,' 'Kadana,' 'Belli Kalungara,' and 'Hulia.' He'd also just completed work as a screenwriter and dialogue writer for the upcoming film 'Satyam.'
Raju began his career in the film business in 1982, working as an assistant director on K.V. Jayaram's film 'Baadada Hoo.' Raju made his directorial and writing debut in 1984 with the film "Olave Baduku."
Raju made a name for himself in Kannada cinema by delivering blockbusters in the 1980s and 1990s. He collaborated with the majority of Kannada's biggest performers. With his film 'Indrajeeth,' starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jayaprada, he broke into the Hindi film industry.
He also directed the Hindi films 'Udhar Ki Zindagi' (1994) and 'Khooni Jung' (1995). (2004). He is known for his precise editing and bold, strong, genuine conversations.
He also provided Kannada performers Devraj, Jaggesh, and Shashikumar chances, all of whom went on to become great successes.
