Ludhiana hits the milestone of 3 million covid doses with 5 lakh jabs administered in last 20 days

Adding another feather in its cap, the districtadministration on Thursday celebrated the record-breaking achievement ofadministrating 3-millionth anti-Covid vaccine dose on Tuesday in Ludhiana.

Congratulating the health warriors including doctors andparamedics for their remarkable efforts in this rare feat, Municipal Councillor(MC) Mamta Ashu and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC)-cum-Nodal Officervaccination Dr Nayan said that this would further strengthen our endeavour inthe fight against Covid-19.

They said that Ludhiana is already the leading districtin the state by administrating 3041898 Covid shots to the people including2158459 eligible beneficiaries with the first dose and 883439 people got bothdoses till October 5 since the vaccination started on January 16 which means82-percent population of Ludhiana has received the first dose of thecoronavirus vaccine and nearly 34-percent people are now fully vaccinated.

They said that the administration is continue toaccelerate the pace of the vaccination and had administrated five lakh doses inthe last 20 days, an average of inoculating 25000 Covid-19 doses per day. TheLudhiana had achieved the milestone of giving 2.5 million doses on September16.

They said that vaccine is the only way to conquer thevirus and is helping society in returning to the normalcy. They said thatdistrict administration is leaving no stone unturned by vaccinating everyeligible at the earliest.

They added that the vaccine is being supplied by thecentral government and whenever it arrives, people must take the Covid jabwithout delay. They appealed to the people to continue to observe Covid-19appropriate behaviour including wearing masks, maintaining social distancing,and hand hygiene otherwise laxity attitude will certainly invite the third waveof the pandemic.
