As the cases of Covid-19 have again started to increasein India and with India's active caseload stands at 1.46 lakh cases today, thecountry is about to launch three more 'Made in India' vaccines.
Dr Reddy's laboratories, Serum Institute of India andBiological E are the three firms are in various advanced stages, as per areport published in a leading portal.
They are also preparing data for submission to get on toPhase 3 trials after getting approval from the authorities in India.
Biological E has collaborated with Johnson & Johnsonand Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. The phase 3 trials of Biological Ecandidate licensed from Baylor college is expected to start in next week.
Dr Reddy had also applied for approval from the drugregulatory authority in India on February 19 for Sputnik V vaccine which is amade in Russia vaccine.
Sputnik V had shown 92% efficacy against the virus. Theseefficacy late stage results were published in The Lancet.
The Serum Institute of India is also manufacturinganother vaccine in the country apart from producing 'Covishield' that hasalready approved for use in India.
Although, Covishield is originally made byOxford-AstraZeneca but SII manufactured it in India. Now the firm is developinga second vaccine of the US drug maker Novavax in India.
