Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West BengalChief Minister Mamata Banerjee has gotten harsh on the Bharatiya Janata Partyafter its prominent leaders alleged TMC for post-poll violence on May 2.
The scenes of violence emerged on the day ofAssembly Elections Result declaration on May 2 in which Mamata Banerjee led TMCmade a landslide victory against BJP by securing 213 seats of 292 contested.
Refuting theallegations and the circulation of the old violent videos on social media, CMBanerjee said, “no such incidents will be tolerated.”
She further added that there are more disturbancesin places where BJP has won the elections.
“BJP is circulating about fake incidents through old videos. Myappeal to all political parties is to stop this. You all have done a lot duringelections. Bengal is a place of unity,” CM issued an appeal.
It may be noted here Mamata Banerjee on May 5 has sworn in as thethird-time Chief Minister of WB at Raj Bhavan. She has asserted that she willsternly tackle the law and order situation across the state and the post-pollviolence perpetrators will get respite.
On the flip side, the BJP has termed political killings in WB asstate-sponsored killings. It has also been claimed by the party officials that TMCgoons set their Hooghly district office on fire on May 2.
Meanwhile, BJP national chief JP Nadda is in WB to take stock ofthe situation and has claimed that 11 people were killed in the past few daysby TMC goons.
