Punjab Police on Monday arrested two persons from outsidethe Moga District Court Complex for making an attempt to take a criminal awayfrom the police custody. Notably, the Moga Police was to produce HarjinderSingh alias Raju of Moga in the Court for hearing.
Those arrested have been identified as Amandeep Singhalias Jajji (24), a resident of Moga and Jaspreet Singh alias Preet (31) ofFaridkot. The Police have also recovered one .32 bore revolver and 6 livecartridges along with one motorcycle from their possession.
Sharing details, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)Moga SS Mand said that following acredible inputs, police teams from CIA Moga managed to arrest both the accusedpersons before they could take the criminal away from the police custody.
The arrested accused persons have revealed that JaspreetSingh alias Jassi of Faridkot, who is presently in Faridkot jail, had taskedthem to help Harjinder escape from the Police custody, said the SSP, addingthat they all are close aides of Gangster Satinder Brar alias Goldy Brar, whois presently residing in Canada. All the accused persons have criminal records,he said.
SSP Mand said that antecedents of Jaspreet @ Preet arebeing verified, while, both Harjinder and Jaspreet @ Jassi would be brought onproduction warrants for further investigation.

Meanwhile, FIR No 200 dated 15.11.2021 under section120-B of the Indian Penal Code, sections 25(6) and 27 of the Arms Act has beenregistered at Police Station City Moga.
