"Medicines cure diseases, but only doctors can cure patients.Carl Jung's quote has never made more sense than it does now. No matter how much we recognise or appreciate our doctors and healthcare professionals for their support during the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be difficult to repay what they have done for the country.
Every year on July 1st, India commemorates the birth and death anniversary of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, a brilliant physician and the second chief minister of West Bengal. This day honours all doctors who have selflessly helped us in our time of need and worked diligently to ensure the health of their patients.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Dr BC Roy
Dr. BC Roy was recalled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his Mann Ki Baat on Sunday. "On July 1, we will commemorate National Doctors' Day," PM Modi remarked, speaking about doctors in the context of Doctors' Day.
This year is devoted once again to all of the doctors and healthcare professionals who are risking their lives in these challenging times, whether in primary or secondary care settings or in specialist COVID care facilities.
Doctors and paramedics have also been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, since they have lost close family members to the virus. This was at the peak of the second wave, and kudos to their enthusiasm and dedication for continuing to work tirelessly in the face of adversity.
Doctors are continually fighting for the lives of persons who have been infected with the deadly virus while we are self-isolating.
Doctor's Day is a genuine attempt to emphasise their importance and express our gratitude by honouring one of their most prominent representatives.
