Domestic abuse on women states that 79% of women continue to suffer silently at the hands of their spouses. As the average age of women in the country rises, so does domestic violence. Domestic abuse affects 17% of women between the ages of 18 and 19 and 32% of women between the ages of 40 and 49. According to the NFHS-5 study, 79.4% of women never disclose their husband's crimes. 99.5 percent of women remain silent in the face of sexual violence. 70% of women who have husbands who drink heavily have suffered violence. There are also 23% of women who are victims of violence despite their spouses not drinking alcohol. Villages have a higher rate of domestic violence than cities.

65% of women who already had two daughters do not desire sons. Despite the fact that females have surpassed sons in many sectors, the desire to have a son in the family persists. According to the most recent NFHS-5 poll, 65% of mothers with two girls do not desire a son, while 35% do. 91% of women with only two sons, on the other hand, do not want a girl. In the case of males, the figure is nearly the same. According to the study, 70% of married women between the ages of 15 and 49 do not desire any more children. In 2015-16, however, this ratio was only 68 %. Women, on the other hand, now prefer only a small family. The average has dropped from 2.2 in 2015-16 to 2.1 this year. Rajasthan is the most insured state in the country, whereas UP-Bihar is the least covered.
A decrease of 7% in alcohol drinkers and 6% in tobacco users:
The country's consumption of alcohol and tobacco is declining. In 2015-16, 29% of persons drank alcohol, and 45% smoked tobacco. However, in 2019-21, alcohol drinkers have decreased to 22% and tobacco users have decreased to 39%. The newest report of the National Health Family Survey-5 brings this information to light (NFHS-5).
At the same time, the number of women who use tobacco has decreased by 3% (from 7% to 4%). The good news is that both men and women are consuming less fried food on a daily basis. Slim women, on the other hand, have decreased from 23 percent to 19 percent in the previous four years. In Karnataka, 48% of women are victims of domestic abuse.
The average for the country is 32%. The least number of women encountering spouse violence was recorded in Lakshadweep (2.1%) and Goa (10%). In comparison to those without work, 37 % of women are victims of abuse.
