National Round of Pulse Polio Campaign To Be Held In District From Jan 31 to Feb 2: DC Ghanshyam Thori

Presiding over a meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that concerted efforts are needed to be made to cover each child and asked the health department to ensure no child could be left behind.

The district would observe the National Immunization Round of pulse polio from January 31 to February 2 in which 2,45,872 children between the age group of 0-5 years would be administered pulse polio drops in the special campaign. 

Presiding over a meeting, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that concerted efforts are needed to be made to cover each child and asked the health department to ensure no child could be left behind. 

He said that 1076 booths would be set up in the district including 625 in rural and 451 in urban areas. He said that a total of 2096 house to house teams would be formed which consist of 1250 in rural and 846 in urban areas.

Further, Thori said that 83 mobile teams would be constituted for the campaign, and 23 transit teams for vaccination would be set up whereas 209 supervisory teams would also be constituted. 

He further added that these teams would administer Polio drops to the children in 5, 43,788 households.

Thori directed the district Program Office to kindly sensitize the parents of children through Anganwari workers by holding meetings with them regarding polio campaigns and ensuring administration of drops to each child.

He also reviewed the Covid vaccination program and said 6191 workers have been given vaccines so far and asked the health department to expedite the drive. 

On the occasion, SDMs Rahul Sindhu, Gautam Jain, Vaneet Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Dr. Jai Inder Singh, Civil Surgeon Balwant Singh, and others were present.
