Netizens flood twitter with #SorrySheru trend, demand strict punishment for the man who raped over 30 female dogs

#ShameOnHumanity, #SorrySheru, #VoiceOfVoiceless are the trends being used by the netizens to seek justice for the female dog. They even raised the questions over law and order situation in the country saying, ‘Welcome to India where no female is safe even if it’s a female dog’.

Ina heart wrenching incident, a female dog living on the streets of Juhu galli inAndheri (West) was allegedly raped by a 68-Year-old man who has been identifiedas Ahmad Shah. The man has been arrested last week by the D N Nagar police andthey informed that this incident took place in December last year, while thevideo has been procured now.

Asper information, the accused Ahmad Shah works as a vegetable vendor and is aresident of Juhu galli, Mumbai. The incident came to light when Vijay Mohnani fromNGO Bombay Animal Rights, submitted a video in which Shah could be seen rapingthe dog to the police.

Thepolice after watching the video submitted by Mohnani, immediately arrestedAhmad and an FIR under sections 377 (unnatural offences) and 429 (killing ormaiming an animal) of the IPC and Section 11 (treating animals cruelly) of thePrevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, has been registered against him on March9.

Policealso informed that Ahmad has so far raped over 30 dogs, and the investigationis underway.

Meanwhile,as per the FIR, Mohnani told police that she was approached by a resident of Juhugalli, who informed her that there is a man in their area who rapes streetdogs.

Mohnanisaid that the person who contacted Mohnani said that to prove his claim he evenhave a video to share which he shot in December 2020, where the accused couldbe seen on camera raping the dog.

Shefurther said that she asked the man who contacted her that why he did not complainto the police earlier, however, the man replied that he knew the accused verywell and had warned him time and again to not to repeat the act, but he seemsto be addicted to it and kept on repeating it and therefore, he informed meabout it.

Besides,since the news became public, twitter is flooded with messages in which peoplecould be seen demanding strict punishment for the accused using #SorrySheru.

Netizensare also tagging bollywood celebrities to take stand for Sheru and raise voiceagainst animal cruelty. They have also tagged various animal organizations whopretend to be the saviour of animal rights, and questioned their silence overthis heinous act.
