Mr. Nitin Kohli, Managing Director of Tracer Shoes & President Hockey Punjab, on Friday announced his active involvement in the Jullundur Gymkhana Club elections after Tarun Sikka's brave decision to contest the polls. Mr. Nitin Kohli in October 2023 had officially announced that he would not contest the Jullundur Gymkhana Club Election. However, on Friday, Mr. Kohli in a statement announced that he is active again and extended his support to Hon. Secretary Tarun Sikka's election campaign. Below is what Mr. Nitin Kohli said-
"I want to start by saying a heartfelt thank you to everyone at Jullundur Gymkhana for supporting my initial decision to step back from the Club Elections. I did it because I wanted to uphold unity and avoid getting involved in the petty politics that typically happens during such electoral processes. Gymkhana holds a special place in my heart—it's not just a club, but a second home, where friendships are forged and memories are made.
One fine day, as we neared the elections, a dear friend came to me with an idea to settle things peacefully. I really respected his idea and agreed to it. But unfortunately, things didn't work out with the settlement and he decided to back off. Not only that, he managed to change our candidate of Hony Secretary.
Tarun was sure not to contest the elections but seeing the sad situation of the group, he decided to courageously sacrifice and took the risk of contesting for elections last minute without any preparation.
That's when I also decided to get actively involved in the elections again. I realized that my dear friend and group needed me. My support, being the founder member of Achievers Group, was a big motivational boost to them. They have always stood by me and I will stand by them like FAMILY ALWAYS.
I would like to request you all to Support Achievers Group and our entire team— especially the two new girls contesting for Executive. I commend their bravery as they decided to fight the Elections bravely at the last minute. We have always put the interests of our Club above all else and will continue to do so in the future."
