A leader from BJP Maharashtra has filed acomplaint against Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for disrespecting our ‘NationalAnthem’. While singing the National Anthem during a press conference in Mumbai,Mamata Banerjee did not complete the anthem and sat down midway.
Till now, there has been no officialstatement by Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee after being accused for disrespectingnational anthem. Rather, Banerjee spoke to the reporters and slammedUPA." What is UPA? There is no UPA," said West Bengal Chief MinisterMamata Banerjee on Wednesday.
The West Bengal BJP unit noticed this andraised their voice against this. They wrote on Twitter, "Mamata Banerjeewas sitting down at first then stood up and stopped singing halfway thenational anthem of India. Today, as a Chief Minister, she has insulted theculture of Bengal, the national anthem and the country, and GurudevRabindranath Tagore!"
Dr Sukanta Majumdar, BJP West Bengal StatePresident, said, “Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee sitting at a constitution postinsults National Anthem at a gathering in Mumbai. Doesn’t she know properNational Anthem etiquette, or is she insulting knowingly?”
BJP leader Amit Malviya tweeted, "Our nationalanthem is one of the most powerful manifestations of our national identity. Theleast people holding public office can do is not demean it. Here is a mutilatedversion of our national anthem sung by Bengal CM. Is India`s opposition sobereft of pride and patriotism?"
Tejasvi Surya, National President of BJP YuvaMorcha, tweeted, "Here we have a Chief Minister, who fails to respect ourNational Anthem. Expecting the opposition parties to respect Bharat and itsvalues is a lot to ask for these days. This deplorable behaviour from a ConstitutionalAuthority is extremely shameful and condemnable."
