No one without ‘Complete Vaccination’ allowed to attend school duty by August end, says Jalandhar DC Ghanshyam Thori

Ensure complete vaccination of entire teaching and non-teaching staff in all Govt and Pvt schools by August end – DC asks officials

Jalandhar,August 11: Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has asked the health andeducation department to ensure complete vaccination (both doses) of entireteaching and non teaching staff in all government and private educationalinstitutions by the end of this month. He categorically mentioned that any kindof laxity in this task would be dealt with heavy hands as safety of childrencannot be compromised at any cost.

Chairing ajoint meeting with the officials of the health and education department, the DCdirected that a special drive be launched in both government and private schooland colleges to ensure that no one left without the vaccination. He asked thedistrict education officer to prepare a list of teaching and non teaching staffwho have taken either one or both the doses adding that no one should beallowed to attend duty in schools unless they have taken both the doses oftheir vaccines.

During themeeting DEO Secondary and DEO Elementary have been asked to compile informationof pending teachers for vaccination in two days through Google sheets and shareit with district immunization officer for necessary camps in respectiveschools.

Meanwhile,the deputy commissioner also directed the education and health department toensure strict adherence of Covid appropriate behavior in schools includingsocial distancing, masking, hand sanitizing, and others. He further askedhealth officials to ensure random RT PCR testing in schools so that virusspread could be kept under check. He stated vaccination of school staff byAugust end would be achieved in a mission mode.
