North India to witness ‘Cold Waves’; Temperature in Chandigarh falls to 11.3 degree Celsius

The temperature dipped around 4.5 degree Celsius during daytime.

On Wednesday, The minimum temperature wasrecorded at 11.3 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 19.8 degrees Celsius inChandigarh. The temperature dipped around 4.5 degrees Celsius during the daytime. Accordingto the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cloudy weather is likely tocontinue on Thursday and Friday as well and light rain can be expected fromSunday onwards.

IMD officials stated “A western disturbancewill affect the city from Wednesday onwards. So far, rain seems unlikely butpartly cloudy weather can be expected. This will cause the maximum temperatureto go down and the minimum temperature to rise. Snowfall is expected in HimachalPradesh and this will cause the temperatures to drop further in the start ofDecember.”

Today's temperature in Chandigarh is 17°c.Day's maximum temperature would hover at 20°c, while minimum temperature ispredicted to be 13°c. Along with this, there is a possibility of light rainduring the night. Even if there is a light drizzle, then there will be ahuge drop in the night temperature.

Apart from this, The Indian MeteorologicalDepartment issued a forecast on Monday stating that depression wouldresult in heavy rainfall in Odisha and Andhra Pradesh from November 30 toDecember 2. The depression might bring an overall change in weather inDelhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand would undergomany changes. IMD has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in TamilNadu, Puducherry and Karaikal. Kerala and Mahe may also receive heavy rainsalong with Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during this period.
