PM Modi tweets, mapping policy to undergo radical changes

Narendra Modi announced it on Twitter that it will be a massive step to make India self reliant.

The union government has announced sweeping changes inthe mapping policy for the country. As per the government, it will benefit Indiancompanies. The changes have been planned under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Vision,according to a report published in Hindustan Times.

Modi tweeted, "Our government has taken a decisionthat will provide a huge impetus to Digital India. Liberalising policiesgoverning the acquisition and production of geospatial data is a massive stepin our vision for an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. #mapmakingsimplified."

Modi in a subsequent tweet added, "The reforms will unlock tremendous opportunitiesfor our country’s start-ups, private sector, public sector and researchinstitutions to drive innovations and build scalable solutions. This will alsogenerate employment and accelerate economic growth. #Freedom2MapIndia."

In another tweet modi said that the farmers of thecountry will also benefit from the policy, "India’s farmers will also be benefited by leveraging thepotential of geo-spatial & remote sensing data. Democratizing data willenable the rise of new technologies & platforms that will driveefficiencies in agriculture and allied sectors. #mapmakingsimplified #Freedom2MapIndia."

In the last tweet, Modi wrote, "These reforms demonstrate our commitment to improvingease of doing business in India by deregulation. #mapmakingsimplified #Freedom2MapIndia."
