Punjab Cabinet: Meeting soon on SC order concerning farm laws

According to reports in the media, the government may change the legal course on the farm laws after the latest order of the Supreme Court

The Government of Punjab is going to convene the meetingof cabinet after the Supreme Court put a stay on the implementation of farmlaws.

Advocate General, Atul Nanda has been asked to examine theSC order in detail. According to reports in the media, the government maychange the legal course on the farm laws after the latest order of the SupremeCourt in which a committee is said to report about the issues in two months.

The Chief Minister, Amarinder Singh had said, "Sincethese acts impacts the lives and futures of our farmers, all decisions will betaken carefully and judiciously at an opportune time." Now it is to beseen if the government would challenge the three laws in the court since it hasalready finalized requisite petitions for challenging these acts.
