Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday finallyallocated portfolios to newly-inducted ministers. The announcement comes hours afterthere were rumors of another tussle brewing within the congress over HomeMinistry portfolio.
Reportedly, Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa was eyeingon home ministry. His loyalists argue that since Randhawa was in a narrow racewith Channi for the post of Chief Minister, he should be given the homeminister portfolio.
Punjab PCC president Navjot Singh Sidhu, on the otherhand, believes that the home ministry should remain under the control of CMChanni.
Meanwhile, it’s Deputy CM Randhawa who has been now given thecharge of Home Ministry.
