Mohali, along with the rest of the tri-city, will remainunder complete lockdown on Wednesday, on the occasion of Ram Navami, to avoidgatherings amid the surging Covid cases in the region.
The decision was announced by Punjab Chief MinisterCaptain Amarinder Singh on Monday during a high-level Covid review meeting.
The Chief Minister said he had received a request fromChandigarh UT advisor for a lockdown in Mohali, as part of a lockdown in theentire tri-city, and the necessary notification would be issued accordingly.
Captain Amarinder also appealed to people across allother districts in Punjab to avoid gatherings and large celebrations during thefestival, in view of the spike in cases.
