Punjab CM holds meeting with DCs, police chief’s to review covid19 situation in state

Chief Principal Secretary to CM Suresh Kumar and CM’s Principal Advisor Prashant Kishor is also the part of meeting.

Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh is having a high-level meetingwith Deputy Commissioners, Police Chiefs and among other officials to reviewthe emergency measures tackle the current peak in COVID-19 cases in Punjab.

The development came a day after Punjab CM held a press conferencein Chandigarh and stated that Covid19 situation in state is critical.

Chief Principal Secretary to CM Suresh Kumar and CM’s PrincipalAdvisor Prashant Kishor is also the part of meeting. This is reportedly thefirst meeting of CM with newly appointed Prashant Kishor as Principal Advisor.

As per information CM exhorted the officers to spruce up allthe necessary arrangements and remain in top gear to effectively tackle therecent up-swing in the cases, while asking all the districts to step up thetesting of the contacts to break the chain of transmission.

He is also reportedly having a detailed discussions with themedical experts and seeking their opinion regarding measures required tocontain the spread during the meeting.

Meanwhile, several stringent measures, including restrictionson gatherings, is expected to be announced after this meeting.

Besides, the CM has also submitted his suggestion to PrimeMinister during covid-review meet on opening up the vaccination to youngerpeople in the worst hit areas and also to all those in public dealing.
