The Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi onWednesday paid glowing tributes to the martyr Sepoy Gajjan Singh who wascremated at his native village Pachranda, Nurpur Bedi, District Rupnagar withfull military honours.
Shouldering the mortal remains of the martyr accompaniedby the Speaker, Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana K.P. Singh, the Chief Minister alsolaid wreath and participated in the Ardas.
He also accompanied the martyr’snephew and his father to lit the pyre of the brave heart who made the supremesacrifice in the line of duty in a gunfight with the terrorists in Poonchsector (Jammu & Kashmir) on October 11.
Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of thebereaved family, the Chief Minister said that Gajjan Singh’s unprecedentedsacrifice would ever inspire his fellow soldiers to perform their duties withutmost dedication and commitment to preserve country’s sovereignty andintegrity.
