Punjab Cop apologize for misbehaving with a businessman

However, when the similar such videos earlier went viral, the officials behavior came under the radar of DGP Dinkar Gupta who said such misconduct will not be tolerated at any cost.

Afraid of stern action, Inspector Parkash Singh has issuedan apology for misbehaving with a businessman in Punjab’s Amritsar.

Earlier in the day, a Punjab Police officer allegedly slapped a man for violating curfew normsafter which the video of the incident did round on the internet.

The man was identified asRaghav, who narrated his ordeal in another video claimed that he was aware ofworking amidst the restricted hours, however; his work was of utmost importanceto be completed within the day.

However, when the video went viral, the cop’s behavior cameunder the radar of DGP Dinkar Gupta who said such misconduct will not be toleratedat any cost.

It may be noted here that after few hours, the ruckuscame to an end followed by the various meetings of officials with MarketAssociations to open 50% shops on a rotational basis in the wake ofrising Covid-19 cases. In the meeting, it was decided that on one day one sideof the shops would open and on the next day the other side of the shops wouldopen.

Today Inspector Parkash Singh was checking theenforcement of agreed guidelines in Guru Bazaar and he found that a shop on theprohibited side was opened by Mr. Raghav. Though it is not acceptable he slappedthe owner of the shop Mr. Raghav.

Taking the cognizance of the matter ACP Central, MrParvesh Chopra held a meeting  with MrVinay, President of cloth merchant association Guru Bazar, and Mr. Ginni Bhatiafrom Karmo Deori Chowk and tried to bring the matter to an end. In the meeting,alleged Inspector was also present and he sought an apology from Mr. Raghav,who generously accepted it and said he doesn’t any further action to be takenagainst the cop.  

President of cloth Market Association GuruBazar  Mr Vinay  Mehra and Mr. Ginni Bhatia President clothmerchant association Karmo Deori chowk has expressed satisfaction and the issueis closed.

It may be noted here that this is the third atrocity ofPunjab Police in the past one week. Inspector Parkash Singh is fortunate enoughthat his matter got resolved otherwise he would either lost his job like SHOPhagwara or demotion like ASI Raj Kumar.
