Chandigarh, April 2: The Punjab School Education Departmenthas decided to release an amount of around Rs. 7 crore to the governmentschools for taking various measures to compensate the students for the loss ofeducation due to closing of the school during Covid-19.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the schooleducation department said that on the directions of the Education Minister Mr.Vijay Inder Singla an amount of Rs. 6,97,01,00 is being released for raisingthe standard of education and to enhance the learning ability of students ofdifferent classes.
According to the spokesperson, schools had to be closed fora long duration in the last academic session due to Covid-19. So, the gap inlearning has been identified in different subjects. To fill this gap, funds aregoing to be released under Learning Enhancement Program (Secondary) for theSupplementary Materials / Practical and various activities. The ResilienceProgram for Mathematics, Science, Punjabi, English, Hindi and Social Scienceswill also be initiated.

These funds will beused for Learning based assignments to fill the learning gap of students ofdifferent classes. Assignments of Mathematics, English and Social Sciences willbe sent to the students daily, while three days in a week for Science and twodays in a week for Hindi and Punjabi. In addition, funds can also be used forassignments for the National achievement servey (NAS). These funds may also beused for Map Activity and Political Science / History assignments for Class XIIhumanities Group students.
