ThePunjab government on Sunday ordered lockdown-like restrictions in the state andannounced that non-essential shops will continue to remain closed till May 15.
Essentialshops include chemist shops and shops dealing with the supply of essentialgoods like milk, bread, vegetables, fruits, dairy and poultry products likeeggs, meat and mobile repair shops.
Numberof passengers in public transport i.e. buses, taxis, autos to be restricted to50% of the capacity. All four-wheeler vehicles, including cars and taxis, won’tbe allowed to have more than two passengers.
Vehiclescarrying patients to hospitals have been exempted. No pillion riders onmotorcycles and scooters except those of the same family and living in the samehouse.
Allbars, cinema halls, Gyms, spas, swimming pools, coaching centres, sports complexesto remain closed.
Nobodywould be allowed to enter the state by air, rail or road. If a person visitingthe state, he/she must possess either negative Covid report not more than 72hours old or vaccination certificate over two weeks old.
Therestaurants, cafes, coffee shops, dhabas and fast-food outlets can onlyfunction for home delivery till 9 p.m.
Allgovernment offices and banks will work at 50 per cent strength except thoseinvolved in Covid management.
Nogathering of more than 10 people allowed even for marriage, cremations orfunerals. Daily night curfew from 6 pm to 5 am and weekend curfew from 6 pm onFriday till 5 am on Monday will continue to be imposed.
Villagesto organise ‘Thikri Pehras’ to ensure night curfew and weekend lockdown ordersare complied with.
Religiousplaces to be closed by 6pm daily. No overcrowding in gurudwaras, temples,mosques or churches.
