The Punjab Vigilance Bureau todayarrested Senior Intelligence Assistant of Intelligence wing of Punjab Policepresently posted at CID Unit, Ludhiana for taking bribe of Rs. 3,00,000 forstalling the Vigilance enquiry.
Disclosing this here today,DGP-cum-Chief Director Vigilance Bureau B.K.Uppal said that Senior IntelligenceAssistant Satpal, posted at Intelligence Wing, Jalandhar (No. 2736/INT) hasbeen arrested by the Vigilance team for accepting bribe of Rs.3,00,000 *fromthe partners of J.S.K. Logistics for stalling the vigilance enquiry.
Giving details of this case hefurther informed that three partners are running the J.S.K. Logistics companyat Jalandhar. Vigilance team raided theJ.S.K. Logistics for arresting the Kailash Chand Sharma in some case.
In thiscase, Senior Intelligence Assistant Satpal has very smartly pretended to be aVigilance official and having links with senior officers of VB has demanded Rs.3,00,000 from the other partner Sandeep Sharma of J.S.K. Logistics for helpingand stalling this vigilance enquiry.
He further revealed that fearingfrom the VB enquiry, partner of J.S.K. Logistics has given Rs. 3,00,000 asbribe to Senior Intelligence Assistant Satpal in the presence of his workerRajender Luthara at the gate of transport Nagar, Jalandhar.
He added that the accused SeniorIntelligence Assistant was known to this enquiry and needed to carry outfurther investigation of this case. Taking the advantage, Satpal has accepted Rs. 3,00,000 in the presenceof witness Rajender Luthara. In this way, Senior Intelligence Assistant Satpalmisused his official position and falsely pretended as VB official which hasbeen established.
He informed that a case underPrevention of Corruption Act, and Section 419 of IPC has been registered againstthe accused Intelligence Assistant at VB Police station, Jalandhar and furtherinvestigation was under progress.
