Inyet another initiative, the state education department has asked all the governmentschool headmasters and principals to prepare PowerPoint presentations (PPTs)and highlight key points that they plan to adopt to accomplish the ‘MissionCent Percent’ as well as to spruce up infrastructural facilities to acceleratethe pace of education reforms.
Underthis initiative, workshops were being conducted at various government schools ofthe state. The workshops, which started on December 21 and were concluded today,witnessed the participation of District Education Officers, Deputy District EducationOfficers, members of Zila Shikhiya Sudhar teams, district mentors, ParhoPunjab, Parhao Punjab coordinators and school heads.
Atthe workshops, school principals and headmasters presented their PPTs and newideas, practices and innovations for accomplishing the Mission Cent Percent inthe ensuing PSEB examinations, extension and augmentation of infrastructuralfacilities with the active community participation were discussed and sharedfor replicating the same in other schools.
"TheEducation Department officials and school heads were imparted trainingregarding systematic data analysis for meticulous planning for the purpose.They were trained to prepare PowerPoint presentations (PPTs) on comparativeanalysis of the performance of the students in different subjects during thehouse examinations conducted during the current academic session and progressreport on the implementation of the 20-point programme for sprucing upinfrastructural facilities for ensuring judicious use of resources for bringingin qualitative improvement in education,” said Jagjit Singh,District EducationOfficer, Nawanshahr.
DeputyDistrict Education Officer(SE), Amrik Singh, Dr. Surinder Agnihotri, Incharge,Zila Sikhiya Sudhar Team, Parmod Bharti, Media Coordinator, Principal, RajnishKumar, DSM, Vinay Sharma, Member, Zila Sikhiya Sudhar team, Varinder Banga,Jatinder Sharma, Naresh Bhrigu, District Mentors , English, Mathematics andScience respectively, Gurnam Dass, Block Mentor, among others, also gave valuabletips to the school heads for accomplishing the " Mission Centpercent" and other projects to give a fillip to qu quality improve drive in school education.

Meanwhile,Education Secretary Krishan Kumar while lauding the efforts being put in byschool principals and headmasters for visualising qualitative improvement intheir respective schools said the purpose of this comprehensive exercise was toensure capacity building in officials of the Education Department so that theycould be well equipped in conducting a scientific analysis to prepare ameticulous plan for channelising energy and resources in the right direction.
“Itwould not only help them to play a proactive role in achieving the desiredresults but would also hone their skills to prepare a vision for giving afillip to the improvement in school education,” he said.
