Punjab’s top rank in PGI: Sisodia alleges ‘secret friendship’ between PM Modi and Punjab CM

However, reacting to Sisodia allegations, Capt Amarinder said the AAP leadership was so obsessed with electoral politics that it saw poll conspiracies even in something as basic as school education.

AfterCentre ranked Punjab number one in the Performance Grading Index (PGI)2019-2020, Aam Adami Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister ManishSisodia on Saturday alleged a “secret” friendship between Prime MinisterNarendra Modi and Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

Sisodiasaid, “Captain Amarinder Singh has got the blessing of Modiji. Delhi’s schoolshave been ranked much below. Nearly 800 government schools in Punjab have beenshut in last five years and many schools have been handed over to privateentities but Punjab has been ranked on the top.”

For nextyear’s Assembly polls in Punjab, AAP and BJP are in opposition to the Congressparty.

Sisodiafurther alleged that the educational facilities in Punjab’s government schoolsare poor and that’s the reason that students and parents in the state preferprivate schools over government schools.

He saidthat the index is an effort to hide the incompetence of the Punjab Governmentin the field of education. “The condition of govt schools is such that two daysago a liquor factory was busted in one of them. But PM Modi says CaptainSahab's work in Punjab govt schools is the best”, Sisodia added.

Hefurther said, “Maybe later, the Centre government might release a report sayingPunjab’s hospitals are best. There is a ‘secret’ friendship between Modiji andCaptain.”

Meanwhile, ridiculing the Delhi deputy CM’s atrocious allegation ofa political conspiracy of the Centre and the Punjab government in the matter ofschool education ranking, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh termed it a clear case of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) crying foul in the face ofits imminent wipeout from Punjab in the 2022 Assembly polls.

Vijay Inder Singla said that the desperation of ManishSisodia was quite visible and understandable as paid clamour about the rosypicture of Delhi Schools in media by the AAP government had comprehensible beenexposed.
