Amid the growing circulation of fake currency notes, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to alert people aware of how to identify the counterfeit notes. A racket is circulating fake notes of a lower denomination like Rs 200 and Rs 50.
The RBI has decided to raise awareness about the fake notes to mark the occasion of Financial Awareness Week.
The central bank's Regional Director Laxmikant Rao has also informed on how people can identify a fake currency note and on how customers can complain about any grievances over the bank services or any other bank-related issues.

Citizens are becoming more careful with higher denomination notes, so the fraudsters have taken another route and are now jumping to smaller currency notes like Rs 50, Rs 100, Rs 200.
People have been advised by the Central bank to make sure that they are receiving and dealing in the real currency notes and if they come across a counterfeit or fake note, should immediately inform the concerned administration.
