Days after the army chopper crash in Tamil Nadu, IndianAir Force Group Captain Varun Singh breathed his last on Wednesday. Singh wasthe lone survivor of the December 8 helicopter crash near Coonoor that killedChief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and 12 others.
The IAF officer was being treated at Bengaluru militaryhospital for severe burns.

Captain Varun Singh was the only survivor of thehelicopter crash that happened on 8 December 2021. The Mi-17V5 whichcrashed had 14 individuals on board. 13 have been declared dead including CDSBipin Rawat and his wife. As per the reports, Wing Commander Prithvi SinghChauhan was the pilot of the helicopter. Prithvi Chauhan was the CommandingOfficer of the 109 Helicopter Unit.
The crash, reportedly, occurred due to foggy weatherwhich reduced visibility.
