Punjab Government's Department of Home Affairs on Wednesday gave two retired IPS Officers a seniority. Retired IPS Officers Iqbal Singh Lalpura and Pawan Uppal will now be considered promoted IPS from 2003. As per the order issued by the Home Department of Punjab Government, both Pawan Uppal and Iqbal Singh Lalpura will be considered IPS promoted from the year 2003. For the unversed, IPS Pawan Uppal and Iqbal Singh have been promoted as DIG from the year 2017. They have now retired as DIG from the Punjab Police. Currently, Iqbal Singh Lalpura is serving as chairman of India's National Commission for Minorities.
