On Saturday morning, the film’sofficial title ‘Sam Bahadur’ was announced by Vicky Kaushal on his Instagramhandle. The makers choose ‘the war man’ Sam Manekshaw’s birth anniversary tomake the announcement. Lead actor Vicky Kaushal posted a video announcement forthe same in the voice of veteran lyricist, Gulzar.
Taking to his Instagramhandle he wrote, “the man. The legend. The brave heart. Our Samबहादुर…on the birth anniversary of field Marshal #SamManekshaw,his story has found its name. #SamBahadur”. The movie is directed by MeghnaGulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Earlier, when Vicky Kaushal releasedhis look on social media for the movie he expressed his gratitude on been giventhis opportunity to play the brave man of the nation.

Thevideo announcement shared by Vicky has the voice of Gulzar explaining about SamManekshaw and different names people used for him. He then informs that this storyof his honorable life will be called by the name “Sam Bahadur”.
SamManekshaw’s career spanned over four decades and five wars. He was the firstIndian Army officer to be promoted as the Field Marshal. He was also a part ofIndia's victory in the Indo-Pak war of 1971, leading to the creation of Bangladesh. The first look for his biopic wasreleased in 2019 on his death anniversary.
