School education department released  Rs 2.60 crore fund to raise the standard of sports

According to the spokesperson, it has also been directed to do the complete photography regarding the construction work of the playgrounds from the starting to the completion of the whole process.

The Punjab School Education Department hasreleased funds of Rs. 2.60 crore for 14 districts of the state to raise thestandard of sports.

Disclosing this here today a spokesperson ofthe school education department said that this amount has been transferred inthe account of the district education officers. This amount has been Issued forHoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Mansa, Moga, Sri Muktsar Sahib,Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Patiala, Pathankot, Roop Nagar, Sangrur, S.A.S. Nagar and Tarn Taran districts.

According to the spokesperson, the schools havebeen directed to constitute a five member committee for the development ofplaygrounds and procurement of sports equipments. These committees will beconstituted by involving the school head, two members each from SMC (schoolmanagement committee) and teachers. In case, the school is having the sportsteacher, then it will be mandatory to include him/her in the committee.According to the spokesperson, it has also been directed to do the completephotography regarding the construction work of the playgrounds from thestarting to the completion of the whole process.

According to the spokesperson, the teams of thedepartment will visit the schools from time to time to monitor all theseactivities. The District Education Officer / DM Sports / BM Sports have beenasked to visit the school during the construction of playgrounds and purchasingof sports tools and equipments. All the concerned officers are instructed forthe strict compliance of the rules issued by the education department.
