Shilpa Shetty trolled for wishing 'Independence Day' on January 26

Although Shilpa corrected her tweet, still the trolls showed no mercy in calling out the ignorance of the actor

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty greeted her fans on Republic Day on Tuesday. But in the message, she wrote independence instead of Republic, due to which she is being trolled heavily on social media.  Republic Day is celebrated to commemorate the day the Constitution of the nation came into effect. However, Shilpa mixed up Republic Day with Independence day and wrote 'swatantra' (Freedom) in her tweet.

Although Shilpa corrected her tweet, still the trolls showed no mercy in calling out the ignorance of the actor. She tweeted, "Bahattarwe (72nd) Gantantra Diwas ki dheron shubhkaamnayein. Happy Republic Day to every Indian. Let’s pledge to uphold the rights & duties that our constitution has given us... not only for ourselves, but also for each of our fellow citizens... Jai Hind! Swasth rahiye, mast rahiye, mask pehen kar surakshit rahiye."
