Richa Dubey, a wife of a slain gangster Vikas Dubey,killed in police encounter on July 10, 2020, sent a legal notice to an authorof a book and a film maker on taking up Vikas Dubey as a subject for their bookand film.
Dubey's wife has sought ban on any material based on herhusband's life. Richa's husband was encountered after his arrest from MadhyaPradesh when he and his associates killed 8 policemen-Bikru massacre- on July3, 2020.
Filing a petition, Richa has reportedly said that if shewill not get any satisfactory response, she will go to High Court. The lawyerin the case have also asked for the intervention of Union Information andBroadcasting minister.
Richa believes that the book and film based on the 'Bikrumassacre' could malign the image of her family.
Prabha Shankar Mishra and Rishab Raj, both the lawyers inthe case told the media persons that the book titled 'Main Kanpur Wala' isbeing written by Mridul Kapil.
Similarly, the film has been titled as 'Hanak' isunderway shooting in various areas. The lawyers and Dubey's wife say the movieand the book violate their Right to Privacy under Article 21 of theConstitution of India.
Article 21 of the Indian constitution says that no personcan be denied his right to life and personal freedom except through the processestablished by law.
Richa further alleges that permission was not soughtbefore making the film or writing the book. Mohan Nagar is making the film andit is being shot in Madhya Pradesh.
