Streets of Bihar not safe as a man is riddled with bullets

Family in chaos and despair, politicians leverage the unfortunate incident, and the police is making progress

The Incident

After completing his work routine, a man pulls over to hishome and while he waits for the gates to open, as almost every one of us doesin evening, when two bike riders open small arms fire on him into his car. Thekillers wanted to ensure a certain death, since they riddled him with bullets precludingany chance of recovery.

The man was an employee of Indigo Airlines, the state isBihar, and just like any common Indian, the deceased man, Rupesh Kumar Singh, hada wife and two children.

The Family in the Aftermath

The family of the victim is obviously in disarray. While histwo children, both under ten years of age, present a strong front, their motheris unable to contain her despair.

The family has shared their concerns and their fair demandfor justice with leaders they have met with.

The father of the deceased shares his utmost misfortune ofbeing a father who will cremate his son than the other way around.

Political Leveraging

The ruling party of Bihar, led by Nitish Kumar, hasexpressed sadness at the loss of a human life and the utter disrespect for thelaw and order in his state. He has strictly instructed the police officialsconcerned to get the matter sorted out as not only the family requires justicebut his state’s law and order must not be allowed to degenerate into pre-2005situation, when criminals ruled the state.

The opposing parties are laying the blame fair and square onNitish and even some sections of media are proposing a fancy term Jungle Raj2.0 based on the unfortunate death. Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, the leader of theopposition has challenged that the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is a tired manwho is now unable to handle the reins of the state.

Progress by Police

Away from the political finger-pointing, the police hasachieved progress in solving the case. Analysis of CCTV footage, and othersources indicate that the two men who killed the deceased have done overtakenthe latter’s car while he was returning. Further, they knew the streets well asindicated by their quick getaway after the murder.

The police has informed, “We have some vital clues which wewould not like to divulge right now. But we are confident that the culpritswould be caught soon.” Further, post-mortem report of the deceased was awaited.
