Sub-inspector carries corpse of an old orphan man on her shoulders, gain plaudits on internet

Sirisha, as per the report, carried the corpse on her shoulders for a kilometer with the help of around three people.

Sirisha, a woman sub-inspector works at a KashibuggaPolice Station in Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. She carried a corpse ofa dead orphan, an old man on her shoulders for about a kilometer.

After she received an information that an old man who wasan orphan had died in Adavi Kothuru area, she reached the spot and requestedthe locals to help her in shifting the body. According to a report published inNews18,  when no one came forward, shetook it upon herself and decided to shift the corpse by herself.

Sirisha, as per the report, carried the corpse on hershoulders for a kilometer with the help of around three people. She later alsohelped in the cremation of the dead with the help from a voluntaryorganization.

Sirisha gains plaudits on internet and district policeofficials appreciated her for her services. Mekathoti Sucharita, Minister ofHome and Disaster Management, Government of Andhra Pradesh in a tweet said,"Women SI of @POLICESRIKAKULM Carries Homeless Man's Dead Body For 2kilometres After Villagers Refused to Help in Srikakulam District. Appreciatingthe humanitarian gesture of Sub inspector Kotturu Sirisha of Kasibugga policestation."

Similarly, G Kishan Reddy,Minister of State for Home Affairs, in a tweet said, "Iappreciate the efforts of Kasibugga SI, K.Sirisha who carried a body on hershoulders for 2kms & helped in performing the last rites. Going a stepahead in her official duties & helping in last rites, shows the depth ofhumane values possessed by every policeman in our country."
