Toolkit case: Non-bailable warrants issued against lawyer-activist Nikita Jacob, Shantanu

Non-bailable warrants have been issued against Nikita Jacob and Shantanu in connection with the toolkit controversy, the Delhi Police said on Monday.

A non-bailable warrant against Bombay High Court lawyer Nikita Jacob has been issued by the Delhi police, who is alleged to create the toolkit that was shared by the Swedish teen environmental activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter relating to farmers' protest. She is also named as one of the key conspirators of the farmers’ tractor rally riots.

Besides Jacob, police have also launched a hunt for another activist Shantanu.

This comes a day after a 21-year-old Bengaluru activist was sent for five-day police custody for her involvement as an editor of the toolkit that according to the police was created right before the Republic Day violence and is deemed as a conspiracy against the country. Greta Thunberg has shared the ‘toolkit’ that would help people to participate in support of the farmers, is believed to have references to "tweetstorms on or before Republic Day and protests around Indian missions."

Jacob has urged the Bombay high court for interim protection against the police action. Her lawyer sought an urgent circulation and the HC has posted the matter for hearing on Tuesday.

The activist lawyer’s house was searched on February 11 by Delhi Special Cell but was not available, however, she signed documents, saying she will join the investigation but went underground after the special cell visited her house, Delhi Police sources claimed.

Disha Ravi, Nikita Jacob, Shantanu all of these activists are alleged to have an association with pro-Khlistani organisations ``Poetic Justice Foundation to spread disaffection against the Indian State", claimed Delhi police. The "toolkit Google doc" was created as a conspiracy against the government and the country. The document is believed to be formed right before the farmers’ tractor rally to instigate violence and was circulating on social media, according to the police.
