Taking strict action against the lab for overcharging inRTPCR test, Jalandhar Commissionerate Police on Tuesday registered an FIRagainst Shree Sai Lab C/O Metropolis Lab after TrueScoop News conducted a stingoperation.
TrueScoop had submitted the audio and video evidences inwhich the lab in question demanded Rs 1500 for RT-PCR test, however, thestate government has fixed a fee of Rs. 450 for this test.
FIR has been registered against the lab under IndianPenal Code section 188, Epidemic Disease Act, section 3 and Disaster ManagementAct, section 51.
Earlier, an FIR was registered against Kamal HospitalJalandhar after TrueScoop team exposed them for overcharging for RT-PCR.

Notably, TrueScoop had also conducted sting operations atthree more labs and a hospital – Dr Lal Path Lab (Doaba Chowk and Maqsuda) andDr Asha Path Lab (Doaba Chowk), theaudio and video evidences of which are submitted with Assistant Commissioner(Grievance).
Meanwhile, District Administration Jalandhar throughAssistant Commissioner (Grievance) has issued a show-cause notice to the abovementioned labs. Besides, Deputy Commissioner has asked the concernedauthorities to inquire the matter and register an FIR against all these labs ifallegations turn out to be true.
