In a shockingincident, two highly decomposed bodies of a man and a woman were found in aflat in sector 34, Rohini, Delhi on Thursday, said the police onFriday. According to the Rohini police, the deceased were identifiedas Divya aged 35, a resident of Patna, Bihar, and Naveen aged40, a native of Bihar's Darbhanga.
Information wasreceived at Shahbad Dairy police station regarding the incident around 12.30 pmon Thursday and police rushed to the spot, Deputy Commissioner of Police (OuterNorth) Rajiv Ranjan Singh said.
Teams of the electricdepartment, fire brigade, and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) were called tothe place. The apartment's door was found locked from inside and it was openedwith the help of the fire department, police said.
A senior policeofficer said that after seeing the condition of the bodies, it seemed like theyhad died around four to five days ago.
The police said thatNaveen's hand was tied with an electric wire that was taken from a ceiling fan.The police added that the electric current in the wire was live when theyreached the spot. The electrician was called for disconnecting the electricity,said the police.
According to thepolice, Divya's body was lying next to the body of Naveen and was touchingNaveen's body.
On enquiry, it wasrevealed that the duo knew each other for about 1.5 years. Naveen had a matrimonialdispute and took psychiatric treatment while Divya was a music teacher, policesaid.
Meanwhile, thewoman's parents are on their way to Delhi. Both bodies will be subjected to apost-mortem on Friday and further investigations are underway.
