A team of four Police officers from Lucknow (UP) have reached Mumbai to investigate the FIR registered against web-series Tandav makers and Amazon Prime Video officials. Going by the media reports, the UP Police team has approached Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh to get assistance in investigating the case registered against the makers of the newly released web series Tandav for promoting enmity and causing public mischief.
Going by the reports, a four-member team headed by inspector Anil Kumar Singh reached Mumbai on Tuesday night and first visited Andheri police station of Thane, Mumbai, before visiting the local deputy commissioner of police (DCP) office. The team thereafter approached the CP office to get assistance in the matter.
The FIR has been filed at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow on Sunday night by senior sub-inspector Amarnath Yadav. The complaint names 'Tandav' makers i.e. Ali Abbas Zafar and Gaurav Solanki, the director, and writer respectively. It also named Amazon Prime's India head of original content Aparna Purohit, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, and another unnamed person.
The team of UP Police is in Mumbai t interrogate the makers of Tandav and Amazon Prime officials. The makers of the Tandav have been booked for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, makes destruction, damage, or defilement of a place of worship or an object held sacred; forgery for purpose of harming reputation, statements conducing to public mischief, with intent to threaten the unity, integrity, security or sovereignty of India, or to strike terror in the people or any section of the people.
