Recentlythe United States of America decided to curb travel rules for vaccinatedforeigners from November 2021. The announcements have been made in the WhiteHouse to revoke the Covid restrictions for vaccinated travellers from 33countries including Schengen countries France, Germany, Italy, Spain,Switzerland and Greece, as well as Britain, Ireland, China, India, SouthAfrica, Iran and Brazil. For the past 14 days U.S. restrictions have barrednon-U.S. citizens.
TheUS is going to accept vaccinated Indians without quarantine from November 8, ifa negative Covid test result is also shown as per the statement of IndiverRastogi, president and group head (global business travel) Thomas Cook India.
“Therules green-list only a few countries while vaccinated people from the rest areconsidered unvaccinated even if they have been injected with theOxford-AstraZeneca jab,” said Jeffrey Zients.
Asper the air bubble arrangement between India and the US international passengerflights can be operated into each other's territories subject to certainconditions, currently, India has air bubble arrangements with 28 countries.
TheUS Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) stated that it would acceptany vaccine authorized for use by US regulators or the World HealthOrganization and will accept mixed-dose coronavirus vaccines from travelers.
CDCwill soon bring new contact tracing rules requiring airlines to collectinformation from international air passengers as foreign air travelers would beobliged to provide a certification of vaccination to confirm that the last dosemust be at least two weeks earlier than the travel date.
Travelrestrictions were imposed on May 4 during the second wave of the Covid pandemicthat meant tourists earlier had to spend 2 weeks outside India in order to gainentry into the US however US citizens and permanent residents were exemptedfrom these restrictions except students who were allowed take direct entrybecause of their session on in August.
November-Decemberis considered as the peak season for Indian travel from the US. So, a rush canbe expected this year.
