A ward was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a 59years old woman who had tested positive for coronavirus in Madhya Pradesh. Theincident occurred on April 16, Sunday evening at a private hospital underKampoo thana.
The woman was admitted after testing positive forcoronavirus and was on oxygen support. On Saturday, April 17 the ward boy,Vivek Lodhi molested the lady multiple times. After the woman complained aboutit and called her family he fled the scene.
The family of the victim has accused hospital managementsaying that they did not take any action on the ward boy and started assaultingthe family members. Brother-in-law of the victim said, “My niece’s treatmentwas also stopped by the hospital.” The son of the victim also accused hospitalstaff saying that they helped the ward boy to flee away.
Hitika Vasal, Additional SP of Gwalior, said that theward boy, Vivek Lodhi has been arrested. The family member also accused thepolice of delaying the FIR. Now, the ward boy is booked and the case isregistered under sections 376 and 354 of the Indian Penal Code.
