Wearing PPE kits officers inspect Covid ward at Rajindra hospital Patiala

Everything found in order during the surprise inspection by high level team of district administration

In order to quellthe malicious propaganda on social media pertaining to Rajindra HospitalPatiala, the Deputy Commissioner Patiala Mr Kumar Amit, alongwith Mrs. SurabhiMalik, IAS, In-charge Covid Care, today conducted a surprise visit in the Covidward of the premier hospital.

Wearing a PPEkit, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by other officers, inspected thearrangements at Covid ward and interacted with the patients.

The DeputyCommissioner said that this apex institute was serving the humanity in rightearnest by ensuring quality treatment to Covid patients in this hour of crisis.He said that it was a matter of immense pride and satisfaction that the entireteam of Doctors, para medical staff, sanitary workers and others were servingthe humanity zealously.

The DeputyCommissioner said that this premier institute was not only serving the peopleof Patiala but the entire Malwa region and other states too. He said that themarvelous service rendered by dedicated team of Rajindra hospital would bescripted in golden words in annals of history.

Kumar Amit saidthat the malicious propaganda against this apex institute in section of socialmedia was irrational, far away from reality and totally unwarranted.

Meanwhile, duringthe surprise inspection Doctors, nurses and ward attendants were foundperforming their duty diligently and patients were being regularly cared for.

Similarly, cleanlinessat the ward was up to the mark and extra effort on ensuring cleanliness in ICUfloor was visible. During the checking of washrooms too the cleanliness wasfound satisfactory and attendants were on standby.

However it wasobserved that due to heavy patient load the washrooms do need regular cleaningof the washrooms for which attendants were already on duty. As a lot ofpatients remove their masks while talking to their relatives and consequentlydesaturate, regular counselling was being done by the hospital staff to avoidthat. Similarly, Food and beverages were also being supplied to the patientsregularly for which a viable mechanism has already been put in place.

The officers alsochecked the control room where consultants and doctors regularly trying toupdate patients’ relatives about the situation of their near ones. The officersasked them to further adopt a humane approach towards dealing with kins ofpatients in this hour of crisis.

The doctors who accompanied DC  Kumar Amit and Covid CareIncharge Mrs Surbhi Malik, included Dr RPS Sibia Vice Principal, Dr H S Rekhi MS Hospital, Dr Vishal Chopra, DrAmandeep Bakshi, Dr Sachin Kaushal, Nursing Superintendent Gurkiran Kaur.
