Why Sharad Pawar met Prashant Kishor today ahead of PM’s meeting on J&K?

NCP Supremo has also called meeting of opposition leaders in Delhi on Tuesday.

Aheadof Prime Minister's meeting on Jammu and Kashmir, opposition leaders in Delhiare scheduled to hold a meet at Sharad Pawar's residence on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

Beforethis meeting, Sharad Pawar met poll strategist Prashant Kishor, second time inten days. The buzz is that Kishor-Pawar meet may be a part of larger scheme ofthings in view of next general elections and aimed at uniting like-mindedparties.

Thoughthe agenda for the opposition parties meet is unclear, but it's in the backdropof the Prime Minister's meeting on J&K. The invitation has been extended to15 opposition parties, but a few of them so far have confirmed participation.The Congress is not yet said yes to the meet.

Itwould be interesting to see whether Congress will attend the meet or not. Tillthe afternoon on Monday, there was no confirmation from the Congress but 7parties have confirmed participation for the meet.

TheNCP has called meet of its own national office bearers on Tuesday morning,ahead of the opposition parties meet.

Meanwhile, this is for the second time poll strategist and NCP Supremo Sharad Pawar have met. It was on June 11 earlier when they met over a lunch. However, both Pawarand Prashant Kishor kept mum ontheir meeting then, further fuelling speculation.

Besides, seniorNCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar brushed aside all gossip,noting that Kishor has already made it clear he will not be designing pollstrategies for political parties in future.
